Mother’s Day, and Looking Ahead to Father’s Day

For those of you who were wondering, our Mother’s Day Adopt-a-Grandparent program was a success! Pictured above are the fifteen Mother’s Day gift bags we gave out at a retirement home in our Berwyn, Illinois neighborhood. We first had the idea to partner with this retirement home for Mother’s Day a few months ago, and with the help of a program direct who helped us determine women who might not have any visitors for Mother’s Day weekend, we set about our task. We asked interested supporters to chip in $20 for each of the bags, which contained a simple gift of Arbonne’s FC5 Hand Cream and a lip balm.

Errol had the pleasure of dropping off the bags and visiting with the women, which I was bummed about, as I was knee-deep in rehearsals for a show I’m stage managing. He reported that all of the women he had visited were genuinely surprised, and just getting a gift was SO huge for them. He would have liked to have visited longer, but the women he was able to talk to solidified that the endeavor was well worth the time and energy.

We wanted to extend a sincere thank you to all of you that made this program possible….you really brightened the days of the ladies we talked with.
